SHL-style drills

SHL-style behaviour-based skills assessment

Rank how you would think, feel or respond in workplace scenarios, untimed in about 20 minutes

Used by KPMG (Official), PwC (Official), Standard Chartered (Unverified)

Length

The format

  • Scenarios24, four responses each
  • QuestionsHow you'd think, feel or respond
  • AnsweringRank most to least like you
  • TimeUntimed, about 20 minutes
  • Moving onForward only
Every response is reasonable, so the order shows your instincts rather than right or wrong answers

How to approach it

  • All four responses are reasonable, so rank by what you'd really do first, not by what sounds best
  • Picture a real week at work or university when you read each scenario
  • Thinking, feeling and responding are asked separately, so notice which one each scenario wants
  • Read the firm's values beforehand, but don't try to game them
More optionsGoing back, shortcuts
  • Allow going backNo source says whether the real one allows it
  • Keyboard shortcuts1 to 4 pick a response, Backspace undoes, Enter moves on
Single-key shortcuts can clash with some screen readers, so switch them off if they get in the way
