- Scoring+1 per table sorted right, −1 per table sorted wrong, 0 blank
- Have readyPen and paper to note each group's rule, if you like
How to approach it
- About a minute per task, so find one group's rule and test it on the other
- Try counts first: vowels, digits, letters
- Sometimes only group A shares a rule and group B is everything else
More optionsExtra time, practice, shortcuts
- Untimed practice firstTwo untimed examples
- Keyboard shortcuts
Single-key shortcuts can clash with some screen readers, so switch them off if they get in the way

| Parameter | Value | Label |
|---|---|---|
| Tasks | 12 | OfficialSource for Tasks |
| Total time | 12 minutes on one countdown | OfficialSource for Total time |
| What you do | Find the rules behind the groups and put new tables in the right one | OfficialSource for What you do |
| Finishing | Not expected, so answer as many as you can | OfficialSource for Finishing |
| Example tablesPrep sites describe six tables in two groups | 3 in group A and 3 in group B | UnverifiedSource 1 for Example tablesSource 2 for Example tables |
| Tables to sort | 4 per task | UnverifiedSource for Tables to sort |
| Table contents | Letters and digits in a 3 by 3 grid | UnverifiedSource 1 for Table contentsSource 2 for Table contents |
| Group B with no rule | On some tasks only group A shares a rule | UnverifiedSource for Group B with no rule |
| Telling the groups apartPrep sites say the groups are colour-coded but disagree on the colours, and we don't copy them | By label and a quiet shade | Unverified |
| AnsweringHow the real test takes the answer isn't documented | Choose A or B for each new table | Unverified |
| Moving between tasksNot documented; free movement matches the provider's other short tests | Allowed, with Previous and Next | Unverified |
| DifficultyOur choice, as whether the real test is fixed or adaptive isn't known | Easier tasks first, with the kinds of rule drawn at random for each set | Unverified |
| Where the new tables goOur choice, so three tables in one group never give the fourth away | Usually some in each group, now and then all four in one | Unverified |
| ScoringThe provider says wrong answers usually cost points; how the four tables in a task are scored isn't published | +1 per table sorted right, −1 per table sorted wrong, 0 blank | UnverifiedSource for Scoring |
| Before the testThe provider publishes no practice paper for this test, so two examples is our choice, and the second is one where only group A has a rule | Untimed examples you can repeat, then a summary page | OfficialSource for Before the test |
| PausingEnd test is here for practice only | Not possible, and the test ends itself when time is up | OfficialSource for Pausing |
| Nomura and UBSUBS itself lists an inductive-logical test without naming the format, and one prep site describes a 6-minute grid test instead | 12 tasks in 12 minutes | ReportedSource 1 for Nomura and UBSSource 2 for Nomura and UBSSource 3 for Nomura and UBSSource 4 for Nomura and UBSSource 5 for Nomura and UBSSource 6 for Nomura and UBS |
| BNP ParibasOne prep site, around 2024 | A 12-question logical test in 12 minutes | UnverifiedSource for BNP Paribas |
